There are many ways to sell my gold and silver. Why should I use the Silver and Gold Exchange?
There are many reasons! First, we post the prices, per gram on a live price chart so you always know what we you will receive. Second, we are the only company we know of that utilizes an independent, impartial, third party testing laboratory to accurately analyze, test, weigh and evaluate your items for a truly unbiased appraisal. We feel this is the best way to ensure that you receive the most money and fairest assessment of your gold and silver. Third, we NEVER do anything with your items without your OK. We contact you with our offer and if you are not thrilled with the offer your items will be promptly returned free of charge. We DO NOT automatically send a check and then start a timer, leaving it up to you to return the check in time or risk losing your items! Do you have a location or agent in my area?
At one time we had multiple locations and agents in different areas. Over time we discovered that most people preferred to deal directly and receive more money for their gold and silver. Now all of our operations are consolidated in our main office. We act as "brokers" instead of buyers in order to get you a higher price. We also use an independent, unbiased, third party testing facility to ensure an accurate evaluation of your items.

I am hesitant about sending off my gold or silver. I've heard horror stories about the "As Seen On TV" guys. How do I know you can be trusted?
First... we created this company BECAUSE we saw how the public was being taken advantage of by disreputable Jewelers, Pawn Shops, Gold Party Operators, Hotel "Buying Event" sideshows and worst of all, many "mail in" "as seen on tv" scammers. We started by developing a live price chart so everyone could see what they would be paid.
Second... We are a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business. PLEASE take a moment to check out our company on the BBB website. You will see we have a flawless rating and have NEVER had a complaint of any kind. Compare that to some competitors of ours who have up to HUNDREDS of complaints docuumented!
Third...You will enjoy Free Priority Mail Shipping via the USPS. Consider the difference between using the United States Post Office as opposed to Fedex or UPS. When companies used Fedex or UPS, they are in effect avoiding MAIL FRAUD laws because the items are not in the USPS mail stream. Since we utilize our nations postal service, any illegal activity would be a FEDERAL OFFENSE!
Fourth... InsureShip, underwritten by Navigators Insurance and Lloyds of London will insure all packages to up to $5000! Most of our competitors have a $100 cap on insurance claims!
Finally... We send you an email with an offer as soon as your items are evaluated. We DO NOT mail a check and start a timer, putting the burden on YOU to return the check within a number of days or have your gold or silver melted and lost forever. We do not do anything without your ok. If you are not thrilled with our offer, we return your items, insured, at no expense to you, so there is NEVER any risk. -
I have a __ piece set of ______ sterling silver. How much is it worth?
The value is based on the silver content and weight. Since there is such a wide range of weights for forks, spoons, etc there is no way we can estimate a price without knowing the weight. If y6ou'd like to weigh your items before sending them, we now offer a Free Digital Scale Rental Program Here.

What about gemstones? Do you buy them? Do I need to remove them first? Are they worth anything?
Sadly, the little secret jewelers don't want you to know is that most stones have ZERO resale value. Larger diamonds (over one carat and high quality) have some value, but our buyers do not buy them. The price anyone will offer for them will be sure to disappoint you. That said... our buyers do not pay for stones. We estimate the weight of large stones and deduct that from the total weight of the piece to determine the price you will receive. You are welcome to remove stones before you send them to us, but you do not have to.

Do you buy silver plated or gold plated items?
Unfortunately, plated items have no value, so they cannot be accepted.

Shipping is expensive. Do I need to pay for shipping?
No. The testing laboratory pays for Priority Mail Shipping and insures your package for up to $5000.

Is it safe to ship my gold or silver? Is it insured?
Yes! Unlike most competitors which sneak a $100 limit in their fine print, the testing laboratory we utilize uses InsureShip, underwitten by Navigators Insurance and Lloyds of London who will insure your package for up to $5000!

How long will it take?
Your items will ship via Priority Mail, which generally takes 2-3 business days.

Do you provide shipping boxes or packaging? Can I use any kind of box?
Since the items ship via Priority Mail service, the post office will provide you with FREE shipping boxes or envelopes. Just stop by your nearest post office and select the best packaging to suit your needs. You can also use any suitable box or padded envelope you have at home and can tape our free shipping label onto it.

I can't get to my post office. Can you arrange for a pickup?
Yes! After your package is ready to ship, just give us a call at 888-266-9395 and we will arrange for a free carrier pickup. Your mail carrier will pick up the package at your next scheduled mail delivery time.

I am located outside the US. Will you pay for shipping?
If you are outside the USA, we would be happy to buy your items, but you would need to ship and insure the items yourself. You would also be responsible for shipping and insurance costs in the event you wanted your items returned.

How much do you pay?
Our buyers pay by weight. The prices are on the price chart on our "What We Pay" page. The prices fluctuate daily as the price of silver and gold fluctuates. There are no hidden fees or deductions of any kind.

What are my payment options?
You can choose payment by check (5-7 business days), an Amazon.com Instant Gift Card (electronic) for 103% of your payout, or via Instant Deposit into your Paypal account. (subject to Paypal fees and limitations).
